Tony established the Tax Doctor 30 years ago after working in accounting since his college days. It started as a small one person tax practice and has grown rapidly over the years by serving the individual and small clients by providing outrageous service and helping them not only with their taxes and business books, but teaching people to become more successful in their life sooner without driving themselves crazy with stress.

Tony obtained his BS in Accounting from Upper Iowa University and his Masters in Accounting from Walden University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Senior Advisor. He is also insurance licensed in the state of Iowa.

He is a profit expert that values making sure clients are actually making a profit from their business. He also helps small business owners not only with their tax and books, but works with them through mastermind groups to teach them to get more out of their business. He works with them to build the business they want without stress and teaches them to work “on” their business, not “in” it, as most entrepreneurs do. He meets once a month with a small group of clients to share mastermind ideas and provide them with assistance in growing their business.

Tim has been preparing taxes for 23 years now. He holds a BA from Iowa University. He is also a Registered Tax Return Preparer. In addition, he helps with extensions, amendments and works with clients on tax planning.

Joe started our “other” business Insurance Networking Systems back in 1994. He is an independent insurance agent specializing in writing auto, home, health, commercial and life. He also helps during the tax season with our individual returns. He is a graduate of Iowa University and he has his insurance licenses in Iowa.

Jolene joined Tax Doctor in July 2025 as Administrative Manager, leveraging a robust background in accounting, real estate, and property management to drive operational excellence. With over 20 years of management experience, I excel in fostering efficient, client-focused environments. Most recently, I served two years as an administrative supervisor at a large accounting firm, where I honed my skills in team coordination, process optimization, and client support. I hold an Accounting Degree from Gulf Coast State College, which provides a strong foundation for understanding the challenges of an accounting firm and my strategic and detail-oriented approach to administrative leadership.

Passionate about delivering results, I thrive on creating streamlined systems that empower our team to provide top-tier service to our clients. My diverse experience allows me to navigate complex challenges with confidence, ensuring that Tax Doctor remains a trusted partner for our clients’ financial needs.

Outside the office, I enjoy quality time with my family and pets, often exploring the great outdoors to recharge and find inspiration. I love experimenting with new recipes and sharing culinary creations with loved ones, always on the lookout for fresh ideas to bring to the table.

Dana Wilson started with Tax Doctor July of 2019. She has been in the payroll industry for over 20 years. Dana came from Sheakley/ Asure Software where she worked in their payroll service bureau as a Payroll Specialist for several years before the Des Moines location was shut down. Dana loves working in the accounting industry specially payroll as she claims it keeps her on her toes. In her free time, she is a very passionate animal lover especially Siamese cats. She also loves spending time with her family and being creative in multiple ways cooking, decorating, redoing houses, art altercations, photo art and many more.

Born and raised on a dairy farm in northeast Iowa. Spent my youth learning the importance of hard work and assisting my parents with the farm bookkeeping. Math was always my strongest subject, and with the background in bookkeeping, I naturally leaned toward business and accounting classes in high school. Upon graduation, I enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa’s College of Business with a major in Accounting. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree and began my career at a CPA firm in Waterloo, IA. After a year of public accounting, I moved to the private sector and carried a series of accounting jobs as I started a family. I have spent over 20 years in private accounting across many industries, which has provided a solid base of accounting knowledge in a wide variety of industries. I worked for Tax Doctor as a seasonal tax preparer for approximately 7 years when my kids were very little, to supplement our family income. After a 6-7 year hiatus, I am back working for Tax Doctor full time and glad to be here!

When I’m not working, I stay busy as a Learning Coach to my 2 teenagers and helping with my husband’s business. When I have some down time, I enjoy reading – legal thrillers are a favorite – and spending time with my family. We enjoy riding, so we are outside in the summertime. Whether we are on four-wheelers and dirt bikes in the back yard, zipping around town on scooters or motorcycles, or going on a day trip on the Can-Am Rykers, we always find a place to ride.

Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. I studied Accounting at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln before making the move to Denver, Colorado. My career began as a retirement consultant, then transitioned into corporate tax at Transamerica, followed by a role as an accountant at Nakedwines, where I gained experience across a variety of financial operations and enjoyed a lot of great wine. Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and family, exploring the outdoors, and cheering on Husker sports.

I now have a new daughter born August 6th, 2025: Adeline.
